Simon Leonard and David Baker (aka Komputer) released the album, "Market Led", on Mute on the 16th of September 2002. "Market Led" is follow up to 1998's "The World Of Tomorrow", the debut Komputer album which introduced the pair to adherents of guitarless music as guardians of the Kraftwerk flame. The interval between "The World Of Tomorrow" and "Market Led" saw David and Simon fast-forward through several evolutionary stages to arrive at the new sound of Komputer. After a year and a half of experimentation and research the resulting album finds sample and download replacing vocal and chord pattern.

For "Market Led" Komputer have adapted a specific set of 'day job' influenced sampling parameters. When not wrestling with filters, sequencers and processors, David and Simon assemble and disassemble the stalls at Spitalfields Market, giving them random access to abandoned vinyl left over from the days trade. Deciding this was an appropriate way to acquire source material, they set about constructing tracks on the album out of samples
from the orphaned records.
